Paul,

Those engine about that era had overheating problems with the coils. When
the coils get hot everything shuts down. Then when the coil cools of,
everything works fine again.

I have installed a new impellor, made sure the water p/u was clear, checked
and even ran without the thermostat parts in the mid unit.
