Hi Glenn,
The cheapest and easiest things to replace on a boat often get neglected. A battery and alternator belt are cheap and easy things to maintain. I always carry a fresh belt and the tools to change it. A Battery Tender is also a wise investment. See: http://www.motorcyclebatteriesusa.com/battery-tender.asp
Over the years, I've learned to always go out with a freshly charged and checked battery before hitting the ramps.

Subject: [omc-boats] trailers
Up to over $800.00 to repair this trailer. Garage is really raking me over the coals. If I buy another trailer there's no way to transfer the boat. Also some concerns as the seller said on eBay no battery so I can't try starting it. That's with new plugs and wires, new oil filter, new fuel filter and gas tank has been removed and cleaned but no fan belt. Who would replace all of those but not the belt or battery?
