Ok.. I've done that in the past as well, but in this case I've something a little heavier than a skier, and a lot more awkward getting out of the water. The boat will also double as my scuba diving platform - so we're climbing out of the water with on the order of 60-70+# of gear on our backs. I'm really wanting a solidly attached ladder or platform - capable of holding like 300-400# for ingress.
They do sell these things, but my real question is if the transom will hold it; it looks like at least where the rubber boot is at the transom is pretty thin. I prefer a platform since you can stand there and drip before you enter the boat - but I suspect a ladder mounted to the transom would put less stress on the hull.
Garelick makes a product aimed at this specific purpose; http://www.cgedwards.com/garelick/gar6.html but the mounting bracket seems like it's pretty small (2-3/4" x 3.62") - seems like you'd need something pretty solid behind it.

Wow... I'm impressed by the visit to the website; There is actually a picture of the boat up there - www.fingerlos.net/boat/Boat.jpg - Yes, I'm located in Idaho, actually about 90 miles south of Lake Couer D alene - and Spokane WA. The boat is most recently from the Boise area.
