Hi Micah!
Seriously... find a REAL Parts Store... a Good Napa store will do or a truck supply house or even an industrial parts house.
Buy a cheap caliper [Harbor Freight, etc] it doesn't need to be digital, even a plastic caliper is accurate enough: measure the diameter inside the hub [which will be the outside diameter of your seal] and then measure the seal surface area on the axle [where the seal rides] now you have the inside diameter, the width shouldn't be too critical as long as it will fit inside the hub without hanging out...
Now, take a deep breath and bring a large cup of coffee and sit down with their [real auto parts store] seal catalog, buried under the counter, below all the "Look-Up" computers and the x-McDonald's parts people, there will be a seal catalog with dimensions, you may find 3 or 4 or maybe dozens that will work, the hard part now will be to find a part number that is common enough to be stocked somewhere, or you may even have luck trying a few of the major seal mfgs on line if no one has a paper catalog in your area. Just remember the actual 'inside' diameter of the seal will and should be a little smaller than the measurement of the seal area on your axle stub.
Trust me, I just did it on my 1960's 'home built' flat bottom v-drive trailer... I nearly had to fight the "Parts Man" at Kragen's to sell me Bearing Sets and Seals even when I gave them the part numbers... they kept insisting on knowing 'what kind of car' it was for... but they did have them in stock and on the shelf.
Trying to match parts by pulling them off the shelf is really a fruitless waste of time until you get down to some hard facts [sizes] then there will/could be differences in how the seal is designed... this is the time to compare a new possibility with what you have left of a seal in your hand... some seals may even have two inside tits or seal surface points or may have other differences, but if you get the inside and outside diameters correct, you will at least be able to use your trailer, buy extra bearings and seals and write the numbers and sizes down and put them in a baggies and zip tie them inside the tongue of your trailer somewhere so when out in the desert somewhere, you'll have them.
I used to work in foreign auto parts and often the only way to get a part for that Borgward Issabella or Honda 600 2-cylinder car was to walk next door and interchange the information at the Napa store to find out it was a common Chevy part, but not listed in their catalogs... much later in my career when I was importing direct from manufacturers from overseas, that's all I did; was interchange USA market parts with Japanese, Korean, China, German, Brazil, etc. Domestic Market parts... it can be done, I guarantee it!
You may find, however, that there truly isn't a seal still made or stocked anywhere... find one that has the correct inside diameter and then have a machinest cut the inside of the hub or sleeve it to the diameter you can find. [very, very worst case scenario] Remember, it sounds like you found the bearings, right? You can find the seals, too! They are probably common seals even if they aren't stocked at the store where everything is Front Wheel Drive now.
Good luck and let me know how it turns out!
Best Rgds, erik

Erik --
I wish it were as easy as "be brave"!
Unfortunately the one remaining seal (other side shredded to confetti
when the bearings failed) is worn to the point where you can't read
the #s. NAPA compared it to every single seal on their shelves, but
couldn't find a match. Calipers might help, but I was worried it was
no longer the right size due to wear. I WAS able to get replacement
bearings/races by taking them into the store, but of course that
doesn't tell me what the right seals are.
If someone can't help me out, maybe the antique parts manual will.
Here's hoping...
Cheers,
-Micah
