Good question, Bill.
You have to swap out the original cable rope/pulley helm assembly for the TruCourse helm assembly. They share the same shaft design so they require use of a OMC steering wheel, so you can retain your wheel.
TruCourse steering upgrade is worth the hassle, IMHO it was the single best improvement I made to my boat when I re-powered.

Subject: [OMC-Boats] Tru-Course Followup
Lee,
Still contemplating and will likely do it but likely later before next season. I have a followup question; The steering wheel hub/behind the dash setup, does it have to replaced entirely or is it just a matter of removing the cable barrel off of the hub shaft and slipping the new cable end over it?
Thanks.
