So this would require cutting a new hole in the transom and patching the old hole? ________________________________ From: BreAnne Upcott <h2onsnow@...> To: Evinrude & Johnson Boats of the 1960's and 70's <omc-boats@...> Sent: Wednesday, August 26, 2009 3:30:57 PM Subject: Re: [OMC-Boats] Stringer Tilt solution The stringer outdrives were made by the Omc Corp. and used in evinrude, johnson sterndrive boats as well as Thompson and others. They have a direct drive electric motor with a worm gear and oil bath clutch pack for tilting the outdive. The clutch packs are no longer available and the design was tough on the motor, especially at around 100.00 for just the motor. The motor was also close to the flor of the boat which induced moisture buildup. My system would eliminate the need for the clutch pack and reduce the stress put on the motor for longer motor life. And relocate the motor higher for less moisture buildup. On Wed, Aug 26, 2009 at 2:56 PM, Justin DeSantis <duc1098desmo@...> wrote: When you say solution, what problem are you solving?
