Hello again everyone. Good to hear that Jeff Schrager is still continuing
the renovatin'.
I haven't been doing much at all except carrying on with life as usual. I
never get out much if the weather is cold (unless there's snow). I'm letting
my '66 Playmate sit it out for the winter months yet another time until I go
retry some stuff with it in the Spring. I'm almost certain I'll be selling
it if I can't get it to plane on the water next year, just nothing more I
could do except try once more.
I'd just about rather find another old boat similar to it than to drag this
fix-it stuff out forever. I just fear the motor got damaged in some way and
I haven't had the time or will-power to take it all apart to see what could
be done to the innards.
Thing is, the boat has surprised me before and got me around quite a bit
after some adjustments and tinkering. I've only had the carburator and
outdrive (foot assembly) off once before. Only time will tell I guess.
P.S.
Those look like real nice boats I see there on the web site, Peter Bilecki
has. The two Sweet 16's. I hadn't seen the photos and stuff for a few
months. Don Babineau's Sweet 16 is near where I'm going tomorrow when I take
a flight to Washington for a Christmas visit. Well, within 50 miles. I had
been to Mayfield Lake before, or more precisely Mossyrock Dam, I just didn't
realize that until now.
Merry Christmas to all of you, and have a great New Year.
Farewell,
Bob Hughes
