Thanks for all the replies. I guess I'm feeling better about the ability to
get parts in the future. The internet sure helps. Don't laugh, but I
actually don't need any parts at the present time. The boat is perfect. As
it's been in the family for 34 years, it has great sentimental value to me.
If it wasn't in such good visual condition, I probably wouldn't care. It
would be a shame to have a boat that looks like new, but can't be repaired
because of a lack of parts. I think, based upon your replies, that my
mechanic is a bit of a doomsayer. Thanks again. This is a great OMC

Why don't you just try and get OMC parts to fix up what you have - they are
not too hard to find if you check ebay and some of the many dealers using
ebay. It beats having 2 boats hanging around ( I should know ). Getting the
Evinrude boat parts is
