Re: [OMC-Boats] wiring for 1970 Electromatic OMC 210hp...

!!!  Fuel spitting from the fuel pump vent indicates the diaphram in the fuel pump has ruptured and is leaking fuel out the atmospheric vent.  One side of the diaphram normally sends pressurized fuel to the carburator while the other side of the diaphram is vented to the atmosphere to allow the pressure differential to develop.  When the diaphram ruptures, the fuel seeks the path of least resistance which is out the vent and into your bildge -- DON'T RUN THE BOAT UNTIL YOU GET A NEW FUEL PUMP INSTALLED OR IT WILL GO BOOM  !!!

I also recommend you tap your carburator and run a hose from the fuel pump to the carburator.  This way the fuel will vent to the carb instead of the bildge, a much safer option.  I have personal experience with BOOM! and recommend eveyone on the list make this change.  Think of it as upgrading the single-cylinder brake system on an old car (failure mode = no brakes) to a dual-cylinder brake system (failure mode = front or rear brakes still available).
