yeah, just so happens that in all this taking apart process,
although i saw nothing in the cylinders themselves, a little 1/8"
size of lead solder dropped out of the IM. Then tonight a slightly
bigger roundish bead of metal fell from somewhere onto the workbench
as I was cleaning a head. So either one or both of those may have
been a culprit. And again, saw nicks in cylinder's 1 and 6.
Although, not sure how a little chunk of metal could get in a
cylinder, bounce around and nick stuff up, then somehow GET BACK OUT
again and up into the coolant or exhaust cavities. It would have to
go backwards up into a valve which just doesn't seem likely. But
an experienced machine shop guy i spoke with today was telling a story
of some engine he had where the wing nut from the air cleaner cover
dropped down the carb and migrated around from cylinder to cylinder.
can't see how that's possible.
