I personally use whatever is in the grease gun at the time - just keep them
greased and you should be okay. That is my opinion only. I also put a little
dab on the ball gears and tilt quadrant. Don't make a mess and leave globs
around that will get on you and the kids when you are swimming around the
sterndrive which of course should not be in gear during those times!! TK
