I got an answer on the parts list. Thanks. I was putting the info out on the
anchor light that is on ebay - I though someone might need one. Not me. I am
seeing lots more OMC parts on the list but less vintage sterndrive stuff.
Lots of Cobra stuff. But it still is easy to review if you do it every day.
I am finding many sellers not knowing what they have and I am assuming they
are folks that pick these parts up in an auction or something and think they
have a gold mine. They put them on ebay with the Manufacturers Suggested
Price which is usually ridiculously high and most do not sell. Sometimes
they will list the same part several times. There is one seller in Minnesota
( I think ) that has listed a real sweet tachometer with the chrome bezel
and it looks real pretty and he started out at 69 or so dollars and now is
up to about 90 - maybe some day he will sell it. I offered him 25 several
years ago. He declined. There are several standard dealers like pith and
wessler that have nice vintage used stuff. Their prices are not cheap. They
are older guys with lots of stuff they have accumulated ( sounds familiar ).
BTW I am working on the Sportsman now. I am redoing the big foam blocks in
the bilge. They had some damage over the years including critter damage. I
fill the holes with 2 part foam and sand it to shape and then spray it with
a flat olive drab camouflage paint that looks pretty close to the original.
I should have them finished this month then I hope to paint the bilge. It is
getting warm enough now. So many other things to do so progress is slow. TK

Anybody out there have a parts list for the 1969 Evinrude Sportsman 155
Boat? I have the parts list for the outdrive. Would be willing to pay money
for it. There is a nice anchor light fixture and lens for sale on ebay. It
is the one that mounts on the top center of the windshield. I saw a nice
Mallory V8 distributor go for cheap. It would have been perfect for the
Rogue. Got a spare already. The distributor had 3 bids. There is a very slow
increase in interest in the old stuff but it is very slow. I still check
ebay every day for cheap parts. I need a life shheeesh! Tom K.

I've got the parts list for the '70 Evinrude Explorer, which is fairly
similar (lots of parts in common), but the Explorer used an anchor light
mounted on a pole in the rear port corner, so that won't help you.
If you are interested in any other parts (this goes for everyone on the
list), let me know and I can look them up for you. I've been thinking of
scanning it. I've also been thinking of scanning the original dealer
service manual for that boat - any interest?
I look every day off and on for parts - in the past I've looked at every
E/J/O part listed on ebay (much harder now) and tried to keep up every day
so I didn't miss what I was looking for. I haven't been looking lately,
but I did a lot earlier this winter when I was rebuilding my outdrive. I
feel like it's easier to find parts now than it was 5-7 years ago - I don't
know about demand, but there's a lot more supply on ebay. But that's just
my impression - it could be totally backwards.
