The story I hear is that other boat manufacturers were not using OMC motors as long as they were competing with OMC for hulls.

  Thanks very much. The Johnson Boats were priced about the same as new
  Cadillacs of the day, so that may have had an influence on their popularity.
  I've never met an owner that didn't love his Johnson Seasport 155. That was
  a remarkable boat. I love the way it can turn around in its' own length. You
  can do some really neat docking maneuvers with that boat.

  Call the AF of M and hire him, I guess. I would love to have a brownface
  Fender amp from the 60's. The tremolo circuit is so warm sounding. The later
  black face ones
  used photocells and neon bulbs for their tremolos. The old one was tube and
  modulated the grid bias on the output tubes which changed the tone as well
  as the volume when used. Sorry I can't answer the question.

  there, I'll do a compression test and look at the plugs (maybe I should do

  What would you recomend to flush the engine with - it is coated inside with a
  thick sludge of oil and water - like warm chocolate. Diesel fuel?

  So far, I can't budge the oil filter. It is deforming when I try to turn it.
