OR, if i'm thinking about this correctly, you could just pull
forward so just the boat trailer tires are on the scale. You would
probably have to make sure your gas tank in front was empty though.
In theory, with the weight of the engine, etc, the whole thing
should be more back heavy than front heavy. It would only need to be
a little back heavy anyway, and with an empty gas tank that seems
like it would make it back heavy - if it wasn't already. Unless the
boat was stored for a long time with the bow lowered and all the
water in the foam went to the front. Probably not. So it's that
with just the trailer tires on the scale and over 51+% of the weight
behind the tires, that's gonna transfer all the weight of everything
to the tires, things pivot at the hitch, and therefore that would
tell you just the boat/trailer weight. I think.
