Justin's right. Make sure you check. The liability coverage for watercraft in my homeowner's insurance has length and horsepower restrictions. I had to get seperate policies to cover my '69 Sportsman and Rogue.

e careful assuming that. When working in the motorcycle business,
art of my job was doing insurance estimates on damaged bikes. NO
nsurance agency that I know of will cover a vehicle under homeowners
ith the exception of things like mowers and tractors. The rule of
humb one agent gave me was that any vehicle they have a special
olicy to insure, wouldn't be covered under homeowners. Not only would
t not be covered for liability, but if it's in your garage and your
ouse burns down, it wouldn't be covered then either. I checked with
y agent (State Farm) and sure enough, no coverage on any of the
otorcycles in my garage. Or the boat in the yard. Check and double
heck that yours covered, ask to see it in writing. Because I've dealt
ith lots of people who assumed they were covered, and weren't. Some
gents don't know for sure, and when you ask, they just assume you're
overed. It gets sticky when you've spent years assuming you were
overed then find you're not when you need the coverage.
